Milan Hosts Scientology Volunteer Ministers’ Yellow Tent for Community Support

MILAN — 22 January 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have brought their distinctive yellow tent in Milan, offering a street-level point for practical help and one-to-one guidance, alongside simple “Tools for Life” techniques that can be applied to real-life difficulties. Already seen in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents speak with trained volunteers and learn straightforward methods for communication breakdowns, workplace stress and conflict resolution, as well as practical help Church during difficult moments.

Volunteer Ministers are local citizens trained through 19 introductory courses covering communication, study and learning methods, interpersonal relations and problem-solving. The approach is personal and practical: understand what the person faces and provide an actionable technique.

In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during the 2009 L’Aquila earthquake and the 2012 Emilia-Romagna earthquakes, and have also assisted during flooding in the Marche region (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help remove mud and debris and restore access.

In Milan, activity expanded during the pandemic period with sanitisation efforts and support for families in need. Organisers say volunteers then continued with neighbourhood support, including over 160 consecutive Saturdays of community clean-up and support, extending across all nine municipalities of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, said: “Across Europe, communities grow stronger when citizens are equipped to help each other in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. Their work reflects a civic principle: support starts with listening and providing tools that help people regain the ability to act and contribute.”
